Digital transformation key to Vietnam’s ambitions of getting rich and clean.

Digital transformation would be the key for Vietnam to achieve its targets of becoming a high-income country and a ‘net-zero’ emissions economy, an IFC vice president says.

Vietnam has two big goals by the middle of this century. One is to become a high-income country by 2045 under the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and another is to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 as committed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 26).

VN-Index back in red after two gaining sessions

Vietnam’s benchmark VN-Index lost 0.21 percent to 1,350.99 points Thursday with trading value declining to the lowest in months, as investors continued to tread cautiously after recent plunges.

The index stayed in the red throughout the day and closed 2.78 points lower after gaining nearly 43 points in two recent sessions.

PCR test now mandatory for domestic flights as Health Ministry seeks to minimize false negatives

Even if you’re fully vaccinated, you now have to take the PCR test before boarding a plane, after the government enforced stricter screening measures for flights ahead of an anticipated boom for domestic air travel.

From Oct. 19 until at least Nov. 1, new domestic travel rules under the Enforcement of Restrictions on Public Activities (PPKM) protocol states that domestic air travelers must be at least partially vaccinated and must present a negative PCR test result that is valid for two days prior to departure.

Indonesia formulates energy transition roadmap to achieve net zero emissions

Indonesia has created a roadmap for energy transition to achieve the target of net zero emissions by 2060, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif stated.

“Indonesia is committed to addressing matters pertaining to energy access, smart and clean technology, and financing in the energy sector,” the minister noted while addressing “Road to COP26 Indonesian Pathway for Net Zero Emission – Energy Transition” event on Thursday.
