[JAKARTA,INDONESIA 2023/07/13] – Hebronstar Strategy Consultants, a renowned Consulting Company in sustainable energy solutions, has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable practices in Indonesia’s forestry sector by forming a strategic partnership with PERHUTANI (Perusahaan Umum Kehutanan Negara), the Indonesian state-owned forestry enterprise which has the duty and authority to manage state forest resources on the islands of Java and Madura. PERHUTANI’s strategic role is to support the environmental sustainability system, socio-cultural system and economic system of forestry communities. The partnership aims to explore sustainable energy business opportunities, including coal co-firing, and collaborate on measuring key Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) indicators.

Representing PERHUTANI in the discussions were Mrs. Veronika Sianturi, Head of the Strategic Planning Department, and Mr. Satria Buana, a member of the same department. PERHUTANI’s Commitment to Sustainability

As part of their commitment to eco-friendly practices, the company is currently in the process of building a Soda Ash Factory and has plans to establish a Wood Pallet Factory. A critical aspect of their sustainable energy efforts includes working with PT PLN on a coal co-firing project aimed at reducing emissions from coal usage.

Despite KGPA’s investment in Semarang, the Wood Pallet Factory has faced delays, and the exact reasons are yet to be identified”. Both parties discussed potential avenues for resolving the issues and ensuring the successful production and delivery of Wood Pallets in the future. Mr. Arvito Muhammad from Hebronstar Strategy Consultants added, “The possibility of cooperation between two parties could be related to machines or forestry technology from South Korea. Because as explained that PERHUTANI has been using machines used by factories, which are still ordinary and not enough developed”.
